DuffleBag Theatre Comes to Eastend School

On April 29, 2026, Dufflebag Theatre will add Eastend School to its tour of 23 schools across Saskatchewan. The “nearly world-famous” Dufflebag Theatre will be adapting The Three Musketeers for Eastend School, casting students in the main parts and creating a spontaneous theatre experience.

No one is chosen ahead of time, so when the show begins, the narrator invites students on stage to play the main parts. They are given a costume, props and guidance from the experienced narrator as they perform with the DuffleBag actors.

Improvisation is key because whatever the students do is incorporated into the show. Other students become the audience.

Laurie Laird, school librarian, has been coordinating the theatre games with the school. (add quote from Laurie.)

Dufflebag Theatre is presented by Eastend Arts Council (who contributed $1200) and the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC) Performing Arts in Schools Program. Dufflebag Theatre has been performing since 1992. Now based in Toronto, Dufflebag performs over 600 shows a year.

Improvisation adapted from the classic story.
