Eastend Arts Council

Eastend Arts Council is a volunteer-powered, registered charity that enriches the community by supporting writers, artists, culture and heritage.

Our mission is to connect local and global communities to Eastend’s inspiring landscapes, its heritage and the arts, fostering a culture of creativity.

The Council owns and operates the beautiful heritage property, Wallace Stegner House, offering residencies to over 250 artists in the past 30 years.

We also offer events and arts programs throughout the year, including our wildly-popular Big Flat Folk Fest and a monthly Under the Roof event, a not-to-be-missed occasion, where the local community engages with the latest resident of Wallace Stegner House.

Some of our members have been with the arts council since it was formed thirty years ago!

  • “This corner of south-west Saskatchewan anchored by the Eastend Arts Council is a marvel of natural history, creative writing and visual arts that has broad influence in all these spheres. As someone from the home of the first Arts Council, Weyburn, I love the relevant energy of Eastend Arts Council and their commitment.”
