Adalia Pemberton Smith & Isaac Smeele

Adalia Pemberton-Smith is a highly trained and sharp individual who brings playfulness and deep curiosity to all her projects. She has spent her life travelling and creating in the forests of Northern Turtle Island and has a knack for bringing people together and inspiring creativity. She has studied theatre at the Dome, performed for over a decade with Le Nouveau International, teaches improvisation at Theatre Sainte Catherine, and is currently studying for a BFA in Contemporary Dance with a minor in First Peoples studies at Concordia University. She has developed into a gifted performer who uses her intellect and innate sensitivity to text and impulse to break new ground and breathe life into each work. Adalia is passionate about creating equity and ecological sustainability in the arts sector. She is a co-founder of the non-profit organization Mossy Society leading their yearly festival, Festival d'Arts Entralaces (Interwoven Arts Festival - faemtl.com) and heading the granting and fundraising efforts that keep things running. Isaac Smeele, an interdisciplinary artist, is powered by an insatiable curiosity and boundless creativity that have been guiding lights throughout his journey. From an early age, his passion for composition and songwriting led him to produce several albums of folk and electronic music. Isaac possesses a remarkable talent for rapid learning and a vivid imagination that brings unique and emotive artworks to life across varied mediums, including painting, sculpture, film, and sound.

Isaac is also a co-founder of the Mossy Society, and is presently partnering with elders to design and build an indigenous-centric artist residency near Montreal, leveraging his expertise in permaculture and carpentry. Isaac's current projects include a sophomore album with his band Mossy Fae, which features Adalia Pemberton-Smith, and a captivating dystopian theater piece, tentatively titled "Lucky You", alongside Joseph Naytowhow and Adalia.
