Diana Hume, Print Maker and Visual Artist

April 2026

Diana Hume is a Saskatchewan-based visual artist whose narrative watercolour paintings celebrate the humour, resilience, and everyday magic of prairie life. Her series, “We Didn’t Know We Were Making Memories”, preserves moments from small-town Saskatchewan in the 1960s–70s, capturing the ordinary experiences that shaped a generation.

Rooted deeply in memory and place, Diana’s work reflects her belief that art can preserve shared experience and bring generations into conversation. As a senior artist, she feels a responsibility to share a relatable vision of mid-century prairie life—one shaped by resourcefulness, community ties, and the small adventures that defined rural childhood. Her loose, open watercolour style offers viewers space to find their own memories within the work.

Diana has exhibited across southeastern Saskatchewan and previously operated a studio and gallery in the village of Creelman, SK. Her practice has shifted toward deeper dialogue with community and the continued development of story-rich artwork that reflects the people and places that shaped her. During her residency at the Wallace Stegner House, she is continuing to expand her body of work rooted in memory, place, and prairie storytelling.

I look forward to sharing my “stories” with you and to hearing yours as well.
